New Seekae album “+ Dome” is stupendously good
I’ve a real love affair with Seekae and it’s not for patriotic reasons. In fact, the electronic group from Sydney sound very little like the army of Aussie electro bands of the last decade (see Cut Copy, The Presets, Midnight Juggernauts, anything-on-the-Modular-label).
They’ve just dropped a jaw-dropping sophomore album “+ Dome”, featuring “3” (above), which more than lives up to the promise from their equally-brilliant debut “The Sound Of Trees Falling On People”.
It’s not often that I get to sneak an Aussie release in my year end Top 10 list, but I’ve got a sneaking suspicion Seekae will buck the trend. And this being a ‘Cut Copy release year’, IT MIGHT BE THE YEAR OF MUSICAL JINGOISM.
